In ‘Carte Blanche’, an artist is given free play in KUNSTLETTERS, the quarterly magazine of Kunstwerkt. Under the banner of Carte Blanche, BLANCO selects a different artist to fill two blank pages of each edition of the magazine. The artists are selected together with partners from UFO.

Laura: ‘The simple flatbed scanner is a good example of a technical device that can capture and encode visual information. It has limitations, such as the requirement that the scanned object has to be flat and motionless, and it represents a specific way of seeing.

I experimented with the flatbed scanner by scanning glass marbles and spinning tops, playing with the abilities of the device and the limits of its perception. Here, volume, movement and interaction with light are captured, according to the technical operation of the scanner.’
